It can be hard to get kids to eat well, but a variety of iPad apps are helping to make it a little easier. One of these apps is Smash Your Food.
Presented as a fun game, Smash Your Food allows users to guess the amount of sugar, salt and oil contained in some of their favorite foods and then smashing them to reveal the real amounts. It serves as an eye-opening experience for users, and helps them understand just want they’re putting in their bodies on a regular basis. The app includes HD footage of real food being smashed accompanied with vivid sound effects.
Smash Your Food was named the winner of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Apps for Healthy Kids national competition. It’s rated for kids ages 4 and up and is available as a free app with a limited variety of food, and a full version for $2.99.
